Americans love community living – which is why there are more than 2,000 Active Adult Communities in the United States today. In Ambera, we have visited many of them (actually several hundred!) and the great stories from those living there have excited and inspired us – and touched our hearts.
As early as 1995, Ambera’s founder, Jan Olav Frestad, visited Sun City Lincoln Hills in California for the first time – a visit that inspired the idea that the place you live can change the way you live. He was inspired by the towns and villages that facilitate an active and social life for those who want it.
We have recorded many of their wonderful stories. Watch the videos below and hear what the residents have to say:
These are the words of a resident we visited in Arizona – and we completely agree: the experiences and stories we have witnessed there have inspired us to give Europeans the same opportunities that Americans have had for over 60 years – with a European twist. This is how Ambera came into being.
Our housing projects will help to create a meaningful life for active adults through the provision of activities, involvement and community. Here you should always have the opportunity to be sociable, if you want to be. Research shows that 55% of those living in homes with community have a better quality of life now than before – and these stories provide us with living proof of that.
